FaceApp is a photo app developed by Russian company Wireless Lab that can morph a photo of someone’s face into an aged or younger version of themselves.
Security experts are warning the app allows the developer to use, modify, adapt and publish any images of you that you offer up in exchange for its AI according to the terms of service. This is a pretty standard use for a photo editing app but experts warn about a clause in the app that allows the developer to use images from your camera roll without your permission.
The clause reads:
'You grant FaceApp a perpetual, irrevocable... royalty-free... license to use, adapt, publish, distribute your user content... in all media formats... when you post or otherwise share.'
