Oh, my goodness. I have officially had my life changed after yesterday and my first NFL experience. I went to Oakland with Gavan our overnight host to see the Raiders play the Rams on Monday Night Football. Long story short, it was one of the most incredible and coolest moments I've experienced.
We took a mid-morning flight out of SLC on Southwest which easily had 20-30 other Raiders fans on it. When we landed in Oakland we hit up this sports bar called Ricky's which was like the unofficial sports bar of the Raiders. The place had tons of old memorabilia plus some really cool Oakland Invaders football swag from the old USFL.
After we checked into our hotel, grabbed a coffee and a Red Bull we headed towards the O.Co Coliseum, home of the Oakland Raiders. Let me just say, walking around the Coliseum with thousands of other Raiders fans was insane. Think of the biggest party you've ever been to and multiply it by 10. Still not as crazy as the tailgate lot.
Our seats were up on the 3rd deck of the stadium right behind the south end zone where The Black Hole sits and the entire time I was there I was thinking "Somebody hit me, this can't be real." The entire night was surreal, the crowd the stadium, the atmosphere were just incredible.
9.5 out of 10 would recommend.
