I Experienced My First Migraine Today, This Is What It Felt Like

I had an unpleasant first-time-ever momnent today when I experienced my first migraine headache. It sucked. I got to the radio station, started my usual routine when I noticed my vision was getting a little blurry, but in a very specific area. I know that by the end of the day, after looking at screens all day, my eyes are tired and things get a little blurry. But this was different.

The center of my vision had these blind spots and I couldn't focus. I couldn't see the text on my computer screen. Then these really weird, pulsating, jagged lines started to show up in both of my eyes.

At this point I'm starting to freak out, I go to the internet to try and find out what's going on and the internet says it's a migraine. A migraine? My head doesn't hurt, what's happening?

After about 20 minutes the jagged lines finally went away. I told Gavan our overnight guy about what happened and he said "Yeah man, that's a migraine."

10-15 minutes after the visual impairments, that's when the headache rolled into town. Holy cow did it hurt, it felt like an elephant was laying on my brain.

Two hours after the first symptoms showed up my head started to finally feel like normal. The only other way to describe how that migraine felt was like this scene from "Scanners."
