What's It Like Above The Inversion?

posted by Aaron -

For those of us down in the valley, this is what it looks like up on the Oquirrh Mountains above of the inversion/smog/pollution. Thanks to KSL Weather for posting the time lapse from Farnsworth Peak.

Inversion lapse

This is a time lapse taken atop Farnsworth Peak looking west toward the Tooele Valley this afternoon. The top of the inversion acts like the ground because it is so strong, so any winds we get go over the top rather than filter below to scour out the colder air, pollution and fog.
