Prince William & Kate Middleton Took Their Kids 'Lambing' Over School Break

Prince William and Kate Middleton have officially returned to work after taking a short break from their official royal duties. While Prince George and Princess Charlotte were on a brief school holiday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge decided to have a work holiday, as well, in order to spend some quality time with their children. During their time off, Kate and William took their three kids "lambing" so they could experience "country life."

While visiting the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales recently, Prince William opened up about their family excursion to the countryside. “We’ve been lambing with the children this week,” he said. “Charlotte wasn’t sure at first but George was straight in there. [Prince] Louis loves the tractors. They loved seeing the lambs and feeding the lambs.”

Former rugby player Rhian Roberts, who was also in attendance at the event, told The Evening Standard: “[William] said they’ve been lambing this week up in Norfolk, [England]. They want the children to see the country way of life as well as the city way of life.”

The Cambridges often speak up about how important is to them that their children spend time outdoors. Back in May 2019, Kate designed a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show and opened up about her love of nature. “In recent years I have focused much of my work on the early years, and how instrumental they are for outcomes later in life,” Kate said. “I believe that spending time outdoors when we are young can play a role in laying the foundations for children to become happy, healthy adults.”

More recently, Kate gave a candid interview all about motherhood. She once again spoke about sharing a love for the outdoors with her children. "As children, we spent a lot of time outside and it's something I'm really passionate about," she said. "I think it's so great for physical and mental wellbeing and laying [developmental] foundations. It's such a great environment to spend time in, building those quality relationships without the distractions of ‘I've got to cook' and ‘I've got to do this'. And actually, it's so simple."

It sounds like the Cambridge family had a lovely break from work and school.
