Kanye West Donates $150K To Family Of Security Guard Killed By Police

Kanye West has a big heart as evident by his recent $150,000 donation to the family of Jemel Roberson, the 26-year-old security guard who was killed by police in Chicago, TMZ reported on Friday (November 16).

According to the celebrity gossip outlet, the rapper heard about Roberson and wanted to do what he could to lessen the burden on his family. Roberson was gunned down by police after stopping a drunken man with a gun. TMZ reported that his donation was sent on Friday, surpassing the family's goal of $10,000, which was set on their GoFundMe account.

In case you didn’t hear, Roberson was working security at Manny's Blue Room Bar on Sunday around 4 AM when several drunk customers were ordered out of the venue. Unfortunately, one of those customers returned to the bar shortly after with a gun and opened fire on the scene. Roberson returned fire, subdued the gunman and held him at gunpoint until authorities arrived at the scene. When the police arrived, the officer who responded to the 911 call fired at Roberson and killed him. Word is Roberson was working extra shifts at the bar to make some extra funds for his son ahead of the Christmas season. The death is currently under investigation.
