The Little Engine That Could: Kesha Says She Even Doubted Her Pop Comeback

Kesha is sitting pretty, strong and confident on top of the Billboard 200 Albums chart with her comeback LP, Rainbow, and, surprisingly, it's a feat that the pop star didn't even see coming.

Walking out of LAX on Tuesday (August 22), the 30-year-old revealed that she's feeling well after the LP hit the top of the chart, but it's not something that she ever thought would actually happen. "It feels good. I just had no f*king idea that it would happen," she told cameras of her pop comeback with a sense of relief. Rainbow moved 117,000 equivalent album units in the week ending August 17, according to Nielsen Music. It marks Kesha's first LP since 2012's Warrior, which debuted and peaked at No. 6.

It's an accomplish that is indeed surprising, considering her tangled legal web with longtime collaborator/alleged abuser Dr. Luke. "i can't even. i am so grateful and so lucky and..... at a loss for words," she captioned a photo of the announcement on Instagram. "thank you. thank you. thank you. there were many days that my music was simply a coping tool, for my emotions. PLEASE GOD i hope anyone reading this knows that they also have the power to turn emotion into art and reach the world. if i can, you can. and thank you animals, for believing this day would come again for me, and making it happen. SO MUCH LOVE I CANT EVEN RIGH T NOW"

You can also catch Kesha and other chart-toppers like Coldplay, The Weeknd and Thirty Seconds to Mars at our 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival, which goes down September 22 and 23 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Click here for more information!
