West Jordan Police Shoot Suspect at Jordan Landing

WEST JORDAN POLICE SAY, A MAN WAS WOUNDED IN AN OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING, JUST AFTER MIDNIGHT, THURSDAY MORNING.

AUTHORITIES WERE DISPATCHED TO JORDAN LANDING -- NEAR 70TH SOUTH, ALONG THE BANGERTER HIGHWAY -- AFTER RECEIVING REPORTS OF TWO SUSPICIOUS MEN, OUTSIDE A STORE.

AS THEY ARRIVED, OFFICERS IDENTIFIED ONE OF THE SUSPECTS AS 31-YEAR-OLD TIMOTHY PETERSON... WHO HAS ACTIVE WARRANTS FOR HIS ARREST AND MADE THREATS TOWARD POLICE.

SHOTS WERE FIRED... AND WEAPONS WERE FOUND, DURING THE FOLLOW-UP INVESTIGATION.

PETERSON IS NOW HOSPITALIZED, IN CRITICAL, BUT STABLE, CONDITION.

THE OFFICER WAS UNINJURED... AND IS NOW ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE, AS THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
