LOGAN POLICE ARE NOW CONFIRMING, THE OVERNIGHT SHOOTING -- THAT CLAIMED THREE LIVES, IN TWO LOCATIONS -- WAS A DOUBLE MURDER SUICIDE.

AUTHORITIES SAY A 24-YEAR-OLD MAN KICKED THE DOOR IN ON AN APARTMENT -- JUST A BLOCK FROM UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY -- AND SHOT AND KILLED A 19-YEAR-OLD WOMAN... AND A 26-YEAR-OLD MAN.

THEN ABOUT A HALF HOUR LATER, THE SHOOTER WAS FOUND -- ACROSS TOWN, IN LOGAN -- DEAD FROM A SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND.

POLICE HAVE NOT NAMED THE VICTIMS... OR EXPLAINED THEIR RELATIONSHIP.

AUTHORITIES SAY THE SHOOTER HAD BEEN EXCHANGING TEXT MESSAGES WITH THE WOMAN, PRIOR TO THE SHOOTINGS.

LOGAN POLICE ARE CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE BOTH CRIME SCENES.
