Posted July 23rd, 2014 @ 11:48am by Talk Radio 105.7 FM / 570 AM

UTAH HEALTH OFFICIALS -- CONCERNED ABOUT WEST NILE VIRUS -- ARE CAUTIONING... ANYONE PLANNING TO BE OUTDOORS NEEDS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM MOSQUITO BITES.

NO HUMAN CASES OF WEST NILE VIRUS HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN UTAH -- YET THIS YEAR -- BUT OFFICIALS SAY SOME MOSQUITO POOLS, IN BOX ELDER AND UINTAH COUNTIES, HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE VIRUS.

THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SAYS, THOUGH NOT ALL MOSQUITOES CARRY THE VIRUS... ANYONE BITTEN -- BY AN INFECTED INSECT -- CAN CONTRACT THE DISEASE.

SYMPTOMS INCLUDE FEVER, FATIGUE, ACHES AND RASH.

THE WEST NILE SEASON IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO THE FALL.
