Jury selection started this week, in Cheyenne, for 39-year-old Cory Donaldson.

The defendant is originally from Australia, but most recently lived in Sandy, Utah.

Donaldson has said he was justified in taking nearly $141,000 from the Jackson Hole bank -- last New Year's Eve -- because he claims he later gave the money to the homeless.

But the judge ruled last week, he won't allow Donaldson to argue at trial he was justified in robbing the bank.

Donaldson is acting as his own lawyer.
