National news organizations are reporting, the Boston Marathon bombing suspect -- who was killed in a shootout with police, overnight -- competed in a Golden Gloves boxing competiton, in Salt Lake City, in 2009.

Social media posts indicate, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, once aspired to be an Olympic boxer.

He also posted an essay on line, entitled "Will Box For Passport."

He reportedly won a boxing title the year after he competed here in Utah.
