Valley Mental Health will be the focus of a $50,000 audit, following a unanimous vote by the Salt Lake County Council this week.

The move comes at the request of County Mayor Ben McAdams, who claims the agency cut 25 percent of its clients, in response to a 2 1/2 percent cut in Medicaid reimbersement.

McAdams also charges Valley Mental Health with informing its clients of the change through a form letter, rather than helping them find care, elsewhere.

Up to 2000 clients were impacted by the change.
